How I Started Popping Plants instead of Pills

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 29 years of age. My first symptoms were not being able to move my arms and legs. This landed me in ICU. After the diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis, I was given a plethora of pills to take for my symptoms. I took these faithfully for many years and steadily got worse. My diagnosis was upgraded to MS when I was 30. This meant more pills and more tests. Eventually, my day consisted of waking up, taking my pills, waiting in bed for an hour until the pills started working and then starting my day. I had to assess how much energy I had and I needed to conserve as much I could just to get through the day. In January of 2016, I started an elimination diet. I got rid of all sugar and oil in my diet and I added a lot of vegetables. I began to have energy again! Then I got even more strict with my diet after some helpful nurses told me that vegan was the best thing for me and my family. I watched tons of documentaries and took the plunge. Woah! I felt even better. No longer needing a cane to walk. I started pushing myself on the treadmill. In May of this year, I did my first 5K unassisted!  I have lost over 70lbs so far and I feel like a new woman, wife and mother. I still have 30 lbs to lose and I take supplements in addition to my whole foods plant based vegan lifestyle that is also refined sugar and oil free and severely restricted with salt. I no longer need the gallon size baggie of prescription pills because I am Popping Plants!
